L’Oréal Fashion Week Day Five

Thank goodness tent shows ended yesterday; I was able to tap on my laptop while lounging in my luxurious bed. I love working from home.

Finally received the phone call I wanted: New York Producer gave me the show offer. He loved my proposal and will send contracts next week. Fiona lied to everyone…again. He only asked for a proposal to get her off his back since she harassed him every day for three months. When she pushed her way into our Susur dinner, he realized she was too crazy to host a show and take no for an answer, so he asked for a proposal.  Fiona’s out; I’m in.

I couldn’t wait to spread the news at CiRCA. Since I loved the Greta Constantine show there two nights ago, I contemplated wearing one of their gorgeous dresses. In the end, though, a Lucian Matis jacket begged to be worn with Pink Tartan pants.

Yes, I know I broke Fashion Rule Number Two, but I would never wear a patterned hoodie, even though I think Kid Robot toys and art are adorable. The show was a fantastic production. Kid Robot prepared the mood by asking us to imagine what we would wear if we were Kid Robot toys scaling Mount Everest, listening to Kraftwerk in 1982. While we heard no Kraftwerk in the show, I definitely would wear those outfits if I were a Kid Robot toy. And I would want to dance like the models who popped and locked all over the runway. But I’m not, so that’s why I broke a Fashion Rule.

But I kind of didn’t break a rule because Lucian participated in Project MUNNY Canada, a fundraiser for War Child Canada. Twenty Canadian designers customized Kid Robot MUNNY dolls, so technically I was wearing a designer who was showing. I loved the Oligarchy doll with a head full of jewels and already placed a bid.

CiRCA really knows how to treat its fashion guests. When I walked in, the Amarula girls handed me the on-the-rocks refreshment that kept flowing through the pre-show. In the post-show VIP lounge, I shared shots with designer Philip Sparks and NOW style writer, Andrew Sardone, compliments of Coupe Space Gallery. Those boys know how to have fun. We all cozied into an extra-VIP space to watch Simian Mobile Disco and danced Good Friday away.
