Fashion Queerterly Catwalk Talk : Velosse works it girls!

Where are all the drag queens at?  That’s what I was wondering when new designer Max Velosse walked her debut collection down the L’Oreal Fashion Week catwalk on Thursday night. Its combination of 80s poof and Marie Antoinette frills was accessorized to a tranny hot mess (and everyone who warms up for their Saturday night at Buddies with a few SNL sketches knows that’s a good thing) that would earn a rave from any diva of the Church Street stage.

Too bad the audience was filled with nipped and tucked ladies wearing Pink Tartan. Without an equestrian or mod reference in sight, their faces were puzzled and blank (or maybe that was just the botox and they really loved it as much as moi!).

Lucinda McRuvy usually covers new designers, but I didn’t see any mention of Velocity anywhere in her column. Or anywhere else. What did I do wrong? I can’t believe EYE didn’t mention me again after that My Place thing! At least I have the Queens on my side. Bernie Debt is my new best friend!
