Imago Show: Bedtime Stories at CiRCA

I couldn’t wait to get dressed up and show off my latest creation at CiRCA tonight at the Imago Zine show.

With a Bedtime Stories theme in mind, I was lucky to find an Alice in Wonderland Costume at Value Village, but had to make it me. The first thing I did was rip off collar and sleeves. Then of course I had to bedazzle black rhinestones on the white apron and add black tulle to underskirt! Thought it was wise to promote my sparkly armbands (got tons of compliments on them too!). What was Alice without the Mad Hatter? Obviously, I had to pull out the black top hat I scored on eBay. When I got dressed and looked in the mirror, I realized something was missing.

I’ve heard that you’re supposed to take something off before going out the door, but I always need to add something. Since I never get to wear the black Capezio Mary Jane Tap Shoes I found at a Queen West garage sale, I knew I had to wear them tonight. After the show, some people asked me to tap on the runway, so I had to think fast back to my grade one tap lessons. I think I shuffle-ball-stepped into a few people’s hearts. I hope Sandra Roberts – Imago Mastermind - was one of them! I totally want my clothes to be in the magazine!

The show was AMAZING! An hour and a half of fashion, music, dance, art, and video. So cool. The hosts were Kynt and Vyxsin, the two most stylish people ever on The Amazing Race. I loved Vyxsin’s fucshia hair! I also loved the opening fashion vignette with zombie-models and the one with the Vicious Guns playing for the cool models. And I loved the celebration of diverse body types and looks. What an amazing show!
