It was so cool! But also sooo wet.
Sandee and I didn’t have a plan to get into the MMVAs, so we decided to start on the street to watch red carpet arrivals and then figure out how to get into the CityTV building for the show. We both looked so cute in our SODAliscious outfits that we figured we wouldn’t have a problem. Sandee’s friend Cindy Renée Mathieu designs SODAliscious and lent her best feathers, sparkles and satins to us to show off in front of the cameras!
Kardinal Offishal made the best entrance in a chartered TTC bus. I didn’t like how he accessorized with scantily-clad bootygirls, but the whole bus thing was so great, I didn’t mind.
For a rock band, Simple Plan were kinda boring. They all wore lame skintight skin-skin-skinny jeans. How cliché. They needed some armbands. Maybe some wristbands. Or better yet, they need a real band!!!
In the middle of the red carpet, there was a torrential downpour that totally soaked the clothes that Cindy Renée was so sweet to loan us. We had to get into the Much Music headquarters STAT, so we found the cutest security guy ever, smiled sweetly, and told him our predicament. I was totally bedraggled, but somehow I convinced him to let us in so the feathers on the kickass corset could be rescued. He understood that you shouldn’t get feathers wet. WE GOT IN!!!
It was so much fun checking out Much Music headquarters, acting like we were supposed to be there. Sandee always has the best ideas and makes me do crazy things!
The craziest thing I did was give a pair of armbands to one of the Simple Plan guys. We practically ran into each other near the washroom, so I said, “You need these!” and gave him a pair. One of the VJ girls was with him, and she LOVED them, so I gave her some too. What a fun night!
