At Pride, there was a booth with a bunch of synchronized swimming guys who were talking about Esther Williams non-stop. I didn’t know who she was, but then when I walked past a garage sale in Parkdale today, I saw a book called “The Million Dollar Mermaid” with the coolest cover: a pin-up girl in a gold lamé bathing suit. It was Esther Williams! The book was a dollar, so I grabbed it. Most definitely a sign and judging from the photos inside, maybe a new source of inspiration.
