Project Un-Funway

To present my best design personality, I wore some pieces from my debut collection and spiked up my hair!

When I got to the audition, there were tons of other designers, but I was surprised by how unstylish they were. Some even wore jeans! What were they thinking?

And what was I thinking, spiking my hair? The girl before me had a fauxhawk and so did the girl after me! Then I heard the casting agent say to a production assistant, “What’s with all the hair spikes? I thought we were getting cutting edge designers, not cookie-cutter wannabes.”

After she said that, she called me into a roomful of producers. How could she do that to me? I’m not a cookie-cutter wannabe!

The lineup of producers told me not to look into the camera and asked me a bunch of hard questions. They were so mean! They asked things like, “Just because you put sparkles on socks, do you think that makes you a designer?”

Aaaargh! I knew I was going to be known as Armband Girl!

Then one of them (in a boring Banana Republic-type of suit, I might add!) said, “We know you’re best friends with Sandee Kane. We think she’s a brilliant designer. What do you think of her designs? Could you compete against her?”

I looked right into the camera and said, “I didn’t know Sandee applied for Project Runway Canada.”
