Not wanting to deal with Sandee’s betrayal, I called in sick on camp counselling today and went to a book launch party at night.
Kingi Carpenter is such an entrepreneurial and design inspiration! She was fired from fourteen “normal” jobs before turning 25 and now owns Peach Berserk, one of the best stores ever! She gives me hope that I can really make it as a designer.
Tonight she launched her new silkscreening book Silkscreen NOW at The Gladstone Hotel. We all had the chance to do some silkscreening and I made a boring old oversized t-shirt awesome, with lots of buttons, threads and scissors printed on. I could totally silkscreen for my next collection. How can I incorporate Valley of the Dolls and Esther Williams in a silkscreen?
I’m so inspired! Is it possible to explode from too many ideas?
