Wow! I lasted at one job through the entire summer! Who would’ve thought? Not me! I never, ever thought I’d like it so much. And I never ever even fathomed that I’d get my collection done. I should have thought of using the kids sooner, though, so I wouldn’t have made them work so hard. Oh well. Whatever. My samples are done. And now my photos are done for the lookbook!

The shoot started tragically. The model didn’t show up! What to do? I decided it was time to make amends with Sandee and ask her to model. She’s a natural and she’s a perfect sample size I’ve never told her this, but I’m really jealous of her for that! Anyway, she wants to be a pop superstar and I knew that she’d never turn down the chance to practice her poses, even if she was mad at me. I was right. She and her campers joined in our photoshoot and helped with the location background and dressing Sandee.

We were all ready to go with hair and makeup when I realized I completely forgot accessories and shoes! Major ooops, ooops, ooops! I had to go get some things from home, so I left hair and makeup with a really cool camper.

Success! I returned just when Elmo, Sandee, and the campers were doing test shots. They were great! Sandee’s hair and makeup were a bit too Girliscious, but that’s what I got for leaving it with a 12-year-old. I wasn’t going to be picky, though. I just needed the photos done.

Elmo and Sandee worked really well together. The kids were very cute art directors and we ended up with totally fun and playful pictures. Woo!

Oh, and I found out the best thing: Sandee wasn’t in Ottawa for Project Runway Canada after all! She got cut too! Is it bad of me to be happy that she didn’t beat me? Yeah, Sandee’s my best friend and all, and I love her designs, but mine are kind of better than hers.

Anyways, it turns out that Sandee went to Ottawa to meet with the organizers of the Capital Clothing Show. It’s like the Toronto Clothing Show, but you know, in Ottawa. She went to investigate it and she and Elmo somehow snuck into my studio and also took my clothes to show. As a surprise for my birthday, she got us a booth! I have the best friends ever! I’m so not mad at them at all anymore.
