BUMPin’ It With Ryerson Communication Grads

The hard workin’ Ryerson Communication kids in their final year were raising money for their annual week-long LINK exhibit, and man, it was a FUNdraiser! The DJs Barbi, Lucie Tic, Yo-Ev, and So Soft rocked the house.

And of course, it was the funnest-dressed crowd too. I celebrated fashion school by wearing a top I made one sleep-deprived night in fourth year. My sewing machine was acting up, so I decided to punish it by seeing if it would sew tape measures. It did, so I coiled a bunch together to make a corset-type bustier with one shoulder tape-tie. It’s kind of crazy, but looks cool with super-skinny jeans.

I swear, fashion students are way more adventurous than the people at Fashion Week. What happens to fashion people who work in the industry for a few years that makes them into black suit-wearing boring people? Sure, the black suits are nicely made and all, but I thought everyone in fashion loves to dress crazy. Hmmm…hanging out with students seems to make me think deeply…
