Fashion Mafia Messengers and Messages

January 12th, 2009 · No Comments

I processed my latest Fashion Mafia mission all weekend.
The glamorous model who delivered it Friday evening whispered in my ear, “Be at the AMC Tuesday afternoon for the 3:35 screening of ‘Bride Wars’ to pick up a package. Be discreet and bring your designer handgun. You never know when the Fashion Police might show up.”
“Fashion [...]

Amber Waves

January 9th, 2009 · 1 Comment

As I walked to Amber tonight to obtain information on my next top-secret fashion mafia assignment, I ran into Fiona. Actually, it was more like she ran into me. She wanted to accompany me to wherever I was going and buy me a drink. She said she wanted to make amends. She seemed sincere.
She was [...]

Did I Receive a Fashion Ninja Visit?

January 8th, 2009 · No Comments

Oh dear. Lady Miss Angora was upset with my decision to bring Basher home last night. He always thought it was funny to threaten to turn my sweet little bunny rabbit into earmuffs, but she never found him particularly funny. She usually tolerates him, but today she was hostile and absolutely refused to get dressed [...]

Sophisticated Shopping with Rosemarie Umetsu

January 7th, 2009 · 2 Comments

I do believe I discovered Toronto’s best-kept fashion design secret today.
Rosemarie Umetsu invited me to her elegant Avenue Road studio, where I was treated like the queen I was born to be. We wined, dined, discussed design, and determined my next wardrobe necessities.
Ms. Umetsu outfits the Canadian arts and culture A-list, so it was only [...]

Dinner with Basher at bite me

January 6th, 2009 · No Comments

I do believe he expected a Hooters-type place with his favourite Buffalo Wing meal, but exceptional chef Marc Thuet gave him a happy surprise. With a focus on local ingredients, chef Thuet excelled at heightening our tastebuds to an haute Canadian level.
During our fabulous dessert [...]

Despite the first class travel, my mission was grueling and tiresome, but rewarding. I expect the Fashion Mafia to be pleased with my work at the North Pole.
Upon my return, I discovered many an e-mail in my Inbox. It seems my readers missed my year-in-review lists. Oh, how nice it is to be adored.
Not only [...]

Top-Secret Fashion Mafia Mission

December 20th, 2008 · No Comments

Tracee Smithers informed me the Fashion Mafia bosses are not happy with my work. They do not want me wearing Canadian designers any longer, nor do they want me reporting on them. I must wear Fashion Mafia-approved labels. To top it off, I have been assigned with a top-secret task. It will take me to [...]

Lady Miss Angora Visits Dr. Frumenta, Pet Psychiatrist

December 19th, 2008 · No Comments

Toronto’s leading Pet Psychiatrist, Dr. Frumenta, agreed to see Lady Miss Angora since she has nearly nibbled one entire side of her custom-designed Gucci bunny bag. I let the two talk for some time, then the good doctor allowed me in for a joint session, where I discussed my feelings of disappointment with my sweet [...]
