Do you love shopping? Do you spend most of your time buying online?
If so, I have a few expert tips for you that will help you on the internet.
When you enter your credit card details or PayPal credentials with an online store for buying something, your information can be tracked. Here are a few tips to keep yourself protected.
Look for https
HTTPS is the secure protocol where any information that you enter is encrypted and thus hackers cannot read it. So if you are entering your credit card number on a secure website, it cannot be tracked by someone else because all the communication between the website and the user is encrypted.
Whenever you are buying online, make sure the website has https not just http.
Verify the address and phone number
The store that plans to scam you usually use fake address and phone numbers. I always call the store before placing my order. I recently purchased from Vermilion and I called them. The call was attended, I talked to the agent, and I was sure that I am dealing with a real company.
If your call is not attended or you cannot find the address on Google Maps, and if your emails are not replied on time, all these are red flags.
